Chysauster and a Cornish Cream Tea

Chysauster Ancient Village

Have just enjoyed a nice day out at Chysauster Ancient Village - out in the Penwith countryside between St Ives and Penzance.

The remains of an Iron Age village - inhabited over 2000 years ago - with the remains of stone-walled homesteads.

Also a beautiful setting with views over the countryside towards Mounts Bay and St Michael's Mount.

On the way back we stopped at Green Pig Farm - a recently opened Tea Room and Gardens on the B3311 road between St Ives and Penzance. Really pleased that we did.

A beautifully served traditional cream tea  with lots of Strawberry Jam and Roddas Cornish Clotted Cream. Will definitely be going back.

    This looks really lovely - on my list of places to visit. I picked up a little guide to Cornwall's ancient monuments on holiday last year, and I'd love to spend a week or two exploring them all.
