St Ives September Festival - Latest News

St Ives September Festival 2013 - John Otway
St Ives September Festival 2013 - John Otway

There have been a couple of new additions to the St Ives September Festival line-up at St Ives Guildhall.

On Wednesday 25th September comedian Arthur Smith will be performing - supported by a festival favourite - the legendary John Otway.

On  Thursday 26th lovers of modern jazz can enjoy The James Taylor Quartet.

One other change - Patrons Evening with Steve Knightley and Phil Beer - will now be at St Ives Theatre rather than St Ives Guildhall. I'm told that they want to hold this special event at a slightly more intimate venue. The date remains unchanged - Friday 20th September. They will also be performing - as previously scheduled - the following night at The Guildhall - with Miranda Sykes.

You can see the full programme - as booked so far - on:
St Ives September Festival - Website

I've included a few more events - that I know are already scheduled - but not yet on the official website - on:
OneStIves - September Festival Page

Tickets for all events will be on sale soon.

St Ives Guildhall - Under New Management

St Ives Guildhall - Website
St Ives Guildhall - New Website

From April 2013 St Ives Guildhall will be managed by St Ives Town Council.

Their intention is that the hall becomes a vibrant and busy venue - used by both the St Ives community and national event promoters.

They hope to raise enough revenue not just to maintain the building and cover running costs - but also to invest in improved facilities.

I've just built a brand new website - full of information for both visitors and potential bookers:
St Ives Guildhall - Website

Any feedback on the site would be most welcome.

It includes full event listings month by month for the next year. More will be added over the coming weeks.

The site also includes information about booking the hall - and the prices are now very reasonable. As well as live music, theatre and comedy - you can book the space for your wedding reception, party, meeting, craft market or just about anything else.

Events coming up include:
  • Mind Body and Spirit Fayre.
  • Modern Dance - Close Distance.
  • Professional Wrestling.
  • Comedy - Kevin Tomlinson.
  • Amateur Boxing.
  • Comedy - Phill Jupitus.
  • Vintage Market.
  • Live Music - The Orb.
  • St Ives Beer Festival
  • Lots more .......
Plus the regular weekly St Ives Farmers Market and Rollers Roller Disco.

Tickets for all events are available from St Ives Visitor Information Centre - many are also available online via Cornish Riviera Box Office.

Check out the listings for more information:
St Ives Guildhall - What's On

If you want to help with the maintenance of the hall - and steward some events - you can join:
Friends Of St Ives Guildhall

I'm seeking local advertisers on the site - especially restaurants and pubs that can benefit from pre-show diners and drinkers.
For more info go to
St Ives Guildhall - Advertising

As a lover of live music, theatre, comedy and sport I'm really pleased that St Ives Guildhall is going to be hosting so many events over the coming months. Looking forward to a few good nights out.
